Labor Day Weekend

We had a great weekend!  We didn't have to go some place special...we didn't eat out...we enjoyed being at home with each other!   We fried foods for the first time...thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Orwat for our new pan!

 

We started the weekend with steak, fresh corn from the Farmer's Market and homemade fries.  

 

Then later in the weekend, Jeremy tried wings and they were DELICIOUS!!  We ended up making them twice!!  This will be our new Sunday Football Tradition (when we are home to watch the games:).

Ryan went to the hockey store to buy his referee clothes, we watched Now You See Me 2, and Ryan hung out with his friends at the pool.  

It was a great weekend!  Tomorrow starts Ryan's official second year of Bantam hockey.  We can't wait!

Hockey Practice on the First Day of School

Here is a text Stella sent to her Daddy -

 

Momma stayed home with Stella and fell asleep on the couch at 8pm.  We missed watching Ryan at practice but know he did his best!

First Day of School

Today, Ryan starts 8th Grade at Lake Ridge Middle School in Woodbridge, Virginia.  He asked us to wake him up at 6:30.  About 6:15, I hear this "Mom....Mom".  He said he wasn't excited about school but how often does Ryan wake up before his alarm.  The answer is not very often!  

I am starting my 15th year of teaching at Baldwin Elementary School in Manassas, Virginia.  I have some of my same students I had my first year here. They were First Graders four years ago.  

I have a good class and Ryan is excited about his teachers and schedule (at least right now:).

Still So Cute!

We were going through old pictures - laughing, getting tears in ours eyes and enjoying our memories.

We saw this picture of Ryan sleeping and laughed because he had to same blanket and was laying in the same position!

 

The picture on the computer was in Fairborn, Ohio.  The current picture is in Woodbridge, Virginia.  (I can tell by the furniture and what we end up moving.) :)

I haven't updated this page in years.  I wanted a place where I can share our pictures with our families easily without putting our whole life on Facebook.

Yesterday, we went to Barrel Oaks Winery in Northern Virginia.  Jeremy suggested we go there for my birthday but had a busy summer.  It was a perfect weekend!  It was my first wine tasting ever!  They were so friendly and very kid and dog friendly.  Ryan loved the wood fire pizza!  He ate the White Pizza more than the Meat Pizza.  It was fun taking Stella with us!  We can't always take her with us, so it was great to get her out!

 

  

 

  

December 31, 2012 - New Year's Eve

We had a great evening to end an awesome year!  We had our ups and downs, with Jeremy's deployment but our family is stronger than ever!  We are extremely blessed with lots of love, good health and of course alot of laughter!  Ryan enjoyed New's Years Eve with a Strawberry Smoothie in a special chocolate-rimmed glass!  We are looking forward to the exciting changes 2013 is going to bring us!
